Faltering Faith-Mark 9:14-29

Discussion Questions:

1)Just as He did with the father in verses 23 and 24, Jesus often puts His finger on the areas of our lives that reveal the root of our unbelief. What are the areas in our lives that lack belief in what Jesus can do? How will you respond to Jesus’ invitation to hear your unbelief?

2) In the sermon, James mentioned that, “prayer is faith expressed to God, and that perseverance in prayer if perseverance in faith.” How can we as a small group encourage one another to pray with a mustard seed’s worth of faith in order to rely on God to move a mountain (Matthew 17:19-20)?

3) Some may see the Cross as a failure, but to us, the Cross brings the aroma of life (2 Corinthians 2:15-16). As we think about the people who are within our spheres of influence, what people do we want to waft the aroma of Christ? How can sharing the aroma of Christ deepen our trust of God as He works?
